The A56 Deansgate in Manchester metropolis centre is closed this morning due what’s being described as a “police incident”.
Visitors monitoring website Inrix stories that road has been shut between A6 Blackfriars Avenue to A34 Bridge Avenue.
Inrix first reported the closure at 4.57am and said the street is closed within the southbound one-way part south of the cathedral.
In an replace at 5.46am, Inrix reported: “A56 Deansgate One Manner Avenue closed on account of police incident at A34 Bridge Avenue / John Dalton Avenue. The junction is closed from all instructions.”
At 5.29am, Transport for Higher Manchester tweeted: “Deansgate closed each instructions between and together with the complete junctions of Bridge St/John Dalton St and King St/King St West”.
Providers from bus firms together with Diamond North West, First Manchester, Go North West Bus and Stagecoach Higher Manchester have been affected on account of being diverted.
