Days after the resignation of longtime Bolivian President Evo Morales, Senator Jeanine Anez has declared herself the interim president of Bolivia. Morales fled to Mexico after weeks of violent protests.
With the transfer, Anez, the second vice chairman of the Senate, took momentary management of the Senate and put herself in place to turn out to be the nation’s president.
Anez, 52, stated on Tuesday that she was taking up the presidency in a legislative session boycotted by Morales’ Motion for Socialism occasion.
Anez stated the structure allowed her to turn out to be Bolivia’s head of state after the resignation of the president and vice chairman.
