There may be stress in Anambra following the alleged kidnap of 5 individuals by suspected herders.
The incident occurred on the weekend in Ayamelum native authorities space.
One of many victims was President-Basic of Omor group, Mr Francis Onwuachu, who was reportedly kidnapped on Friday evening.
Anambra Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Mohammed Haruna, confirmed the incident.
Nevertheless, he stated he was not conscious of the quantity kidnapped including the command had commenced investigation on the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Former native authorities chairman and ex-President Basic of the group, Hon Udoji Amedu, who expressed unhappiness over the event, stated Onwuachu’s automobile had been recovered.
The automobile, he stated, was taken to Ayamelum Divisional Police Headquarters within the Anaku group.
Based on him: “It was not me. I’m now not the PG. It’s the current PG however his automobile was recovered by the police.
“It’s on the Divisional Police Headquarters in Anaku. This occurred about 4 nights in the past, Friday exactly.
“Aside from the PG, we heard that 4 different individuals have been additionally kidnapped by the herdsmen.”
He stated the herdsmen had established contact with the group and demanded N10 million ransom.
“He stated the N10 million ransom was for the PG of Omor solely and never for all .
“We don’t know of the others. We solely know the PG. It’s for him.”
Amedu lamented his cousin was killed final month by the herdsmen.
He stated many individuals had been killed whilst scores of girls had been raped up to now by the herdsmen.
