(LOS ANGELES) — Chris Rock says he’s not a fan of historic civil rights motion pictures, just because they “make racism look very fixable.”
“I hate all civil rights motion pictures,” Rock mentioned in an interview on Neal Brennan’s How I Feel podcast. “Don’t get me improper, I applaud the trouble and they need to exist. The issue is that they solely present the again of the bus and the lunch counter. They really make racism look very fixable.”
“They don’t get into how dysfunctional the relationships had been within the ’40s and ’50s, white males would simply stroll in your own home and take your meals… it’s a predator-prey relationship,” Rock continued. “Do you suppose when it was time to rape, [white men] had been raping white ladies? No. They might go and rape the ladies they may truly rape with out going to jail for.”
Rock says the issues that truly occurred throughout that point had been “a lot dirtier than any film ever reveals.”
“My mom used to get her enamel taken out on the vet since you weren’t allowed to go to the dentist,” he revealed. “No film reveals you that.”
Rock at the moment stars within the fourth season of the critically-acclaimed FX sequence Fargo, which is ready within the 1950s. Up subsequent, he’ll star in Spiral, a reboot of the Noticed franchise, which is slated for launch in Could 2021.
