Berkeley County state candidates Krystle Matthews, JA Moore and Larry Grooms all received reelection in unofficial outcomes early Wednesday.
Matthews, D-Ladson, captured S.C. Home District 117, defeating Jordan Tempo 52 % to 47 %. In District 15, which was a rematch of the 2018 race between Moore, D-Goose Creek, and Samuel Rivers, Moore received 52 % to 48 %.
Home Districts 15 and 117 had been conventional Republican strongholds till 2018.
Republican Sen. Larry Grooms cruised to a simple victory in District 44 with a 58-38 % win over Democratic challenger Debbie Chatman Bryant.
